We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our team. As a BIE, you will guide data-driven decisions by placing raw data into understandable and actionable formats.  The Business Intelligence branch of Symple Lending is integrated into every aspect of the company's decisions under the theme of empowerment.
  • If you can justify a KPI goal with good visual monitoring, the company will push to reach it.
  • If you see a way to streamline data for higher quality or lower latency, the company is agile enough to implement it.
  • If you analyze and uncover an optimization opportunity, stakeholders will partner to operationalize it.
What You’ll be Doing:

1. Data Visualization:

  •     Design, develop, and maintain interactive and insightful data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as AWS Quicksight, (similar to Tableau, or Power BI).
  •    Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data visualization requirements and create user-friendly, informative reports.

2. SQL and Database Querying:

  •     Write SQL queries to transform data into useful formats.
  •     Optimize database performance, troubleshoot data issues, and maintain data integrity.

3. Statistical Analysis:

  •    Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  •    Generate ad-hoc and scheduled reports for various departments.

4. Data Governance and Quality:

  •    Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality throughout the organization.
  •    Operate within data governance practices and enforce data security and compliance protocols.

5. Machine Learning (Bonus):

  •    Apply machine learning algorithms to solve business problems, such as predictive modeling, recommendation systems, or anomaly detection.
  •    Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enhance data-driven decision-making through machine learning.

6. Scripting (Bonus):

  •    Develop and maintain scripts in Python to automate data processing and data analysis.
  •    Collaborate with data engineers to streamline data pipelines.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight).
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Redshift, Postgresql).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and accuracy.
  • Bonus: Proficient in Python scripting for data analysis and automation.
  • Bonus: Experience in machine learning.
This hybrid role is based in Tampa, Florida, and requires the candidate to be on-site part-time or willing to relocate.
